The Eden Project Dundee is set to transform the city’s former gasworks on EastDock Street into a vibrant hub for green tourism and cultural regeneration. Following the success of the original Eden Project in Cornwall, which significantly boosted the local economy, the Dundee iteration aims to be a catalyst for similar economic and social benefits.
This £130 million development will include a mix of immersive exhibits, performance spaces, world-class horticulture, and community-focused areas. The project has been designed with the input of Dundee’s residents through a series of co-creation events, ensuring that it reflects the city's unique character and needs. Additionally, the project will introduce contemporary guilds inspired by Dundee’s historic trades, promoting skills necessary for a regenerative future.
Expected to attract visitors worldwide, Eden Project Dundee will also focus on delivering educational opportunities and employment for the local community, making it a landmark initiative for the city's ongoing regeneration efforts .
